The speed at which Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now being embraced by the Information Technology (IT) industry, has shaken up working processes, jobs, and organizational framework. AI brings numerous benefits to the table, including increased efficiency, productivity, and decision-making power, but it also presents some psychological and organizational challenges for employees. The purpose of this study is to investigate AI-related job stress from a multidimensional perspective, which includes the cognitive, technological, organizational and social aspects. The research method in this study is conceptual review and secondary data analysis based on sources of peer-reviewed journal articles, industry reports and organizational publications including websites of Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, McKinsey & Company, Deloitte, IBM and the World Economic Forum. The results reveal that the usage of AI leads to cognitive overload, decision fatigue, technostress, digital fatigue, job insecurity, surveillance anxiety, social isolation, and uncertainty about human–AI collaboration. All these stressors have a negative impact on employee well-being, job satisfaction, productivity, and intention to leave. The research finds that AI-induced job stress is a multi-dimensional thing that needs to be addressed from a human-centered perspective in the implementation of AI. To integrate AI effectively in contemporary workplaces, organizations need to prioritize employee support mechanisms, ongoing training and development, lessened monitoring stress, and psychological health.
