Abstract
Dodasan Balla is a village of the state Jammu and Kashmir which is just 12 km away from the main town of Rajouri district. The problem of banking in this area is right from the time of independence. The objective of our study is to identify the economic and social position of the people of the village based on their income, education and occupation. Main focus of the study is on determining the banking behavior of the people views of the people towards the rural banking existing in the particular area. The second objective of the study is identifying the banking method used by the majority of the people in the village whether it is conventional banking, cooperative banking, regional rural banks, post offices, money lenders, or any other. And third objective is to identify the problems and constrains which rural people are facing while choosing the banking methods, if they wants to choose their nearest bank.
