Abstract

Every industry has gone through a phase of transition and adjustment in the 30 years since reform and openness. High-tech companies have continued the change with the arrival of the fourth industrial revolution. The number of firms in technology-intensive industries in transition has multiplied 100 times between 2000 and 2020, according to inadequate information from the announcements of listed companies, and the transformation boom began in 2014.

As a research object, this paper examines the relationship between Dual Innovation, transformation performance, and organizational redundancy, and analyses the regulating effect of unabsorbed and absorbed redundancy in order to better understand the relationship between the two concepts.

In the end, the following conclusions may be drawn: There is a positive correlation between exploratory innovation and long-term transformation performance. Exploratory innovation also has a good correlation with short-term transformation performance. Exploitative innovation also has a favorable correlation. Unabsorbed redundancy moderates the link between exploratory innovation and long-term transformation performance in a favorable way. Fourth, exploitative innovation and long-term transformation performance have a positive connection. On the other hand, unabsorbed redundancy reduces the effectiveness of exploitative innovation over the long run. To sum up, the link between exploratory innovation and short-term transformation performance is moderated positively by absorbed redundancy. The link between exploratory innovation and a firm’s long-term transformation performance is moderated by absorbed redundancy.

Lastly, based on the findings of the research, several recommendations are made for companies, and the research’s shortcomings and future potential are highlighted.
