ANALYSIS OF FACTORS CAUSING POVERTY OF COASTAL FISHERMEN IN BONE REGENCY

Abstract

Coastal fishermen face serious challenges in achieving a decent and sustainable standard of living. Through this research, it is hoped that key factors that play a role in influencing the poverty of coastal fishermen can be identified and provide insights for the development of more effective policies to address this problem . This study aims to analyze the factors that cause poverty among coastal fishermen in Bone Regency. This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. The results obtained from this study are that there are five factors that cause poverty in coastal fishing communities in Bone Regency, namely limited access to marine resources, low income, lack of supporting infrastructure, low level of education, and environmental changes. The findings of this study are expected to provide input for local governments and related stakeholders to design policies and programs that are more effective in improving the welfare of coastal fishermen and reducing poverty rates in this area.
