Abstract

The current study aimed to explore the relationship of Workplace Exclusion (WES) and General Self Efficacy among Employees at workplace. The participants included a total of 200 employees with age range between 25 and 60. They were taken from different corporate sectors (banks, multinational companies, and offices), academic sectors (universities) and developmental sectors (NGO’s, social sector organization), through purposive sampling technique. The results showed that age and experience have no linear relation with WES, however, general self-efficacy shows a significant mediating role of 15% on WES. This study will help HR consultants to understand the importance of job appraisals in boosting employees’ self-efficacy. It will add to the research literature in the areas of general psychology, personality psychology, organizational psychology, cultural psychology, and human resource management. The study investigates the dynamics of workers across work setting, which will help in better understanding, acknowledging, and appreciating the workers their healthy development and growth in work environment. Moreover, it can be an initial step towards a curriculum development to train the coworkers and employees by understanding intrinsic and extrinsic factors for effective, productive, and optimal performance. Apart from curriculum, counselling centers should be introduced inside an organization for employees to go for catharsis, which in turn will reduce their levels and make them more productive at their workplace setting.
