IMPACT OF COVID-19 ON MENSTRUATING WOMEN’S

Abstract

Menstruation is a simple bodily function despite this fact menstruating women have to face various problems the recent pandemic has further enhanced their problems. The menstruating women are subjected to demeaning treatment by society as they are forced to follow various menstrual etiquette and are supposed to hide their menstrual status as menstruation is seen as something which should remain hidden. Not only the attitude of the society towards menstruation is negative but the attitude of the government has also remained the same as the government also contributed to creating silence around this topic. It is only in recent times that the government has started addressing the problems of menstruating women, by providing menstrual products at subsidized rates and by creating awareness amongst people about menstrual hygiene but still has a long way to go.

This article in detail deals with the topic of menstruation, what is menstruation what kind of problems menstruating women face the attitude of the government and the society towards menstruating women, and what new challenges COVID has brought for them.
