Line of Research: Education for social and cultural diversity.

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to know the opportunities for people with disabilities to access university education in the city of Huánuco. This objective was achieved with the information gathered during the research process. The scope of the study is the universities in the city of Huanuco. The study population is made up of five thousand people with some kind of disability but who are able to pursue university studies, having determined a sample of 264 people. The level and type of research is exploratory and descriptive, being the research design non-experimental and transversal. Through a survey, validated by experts and with a reliability of 0.932, the information collected was processed, analyzed and systematized according to the requirements of scientific research. The results indicate that people with disabilities are subject to social exclusion and, while there are opportunities to pursue higher education, there are also many limitations.
