Abstract

The purpose of the study was to show the inadequate management of watersheds and micro-watersheds in the provinces of Huánuco, Dos de Mayo and Huamalíes becoming vectors of contamination in the respective places indicated in Huánuco, which is located in the center of the country, and borders to the north: La Libertad and San Martín; to the northeast: Ucayali; to the south: Pasco; to the southwest: Lima and to the west: Ancash; the entire region is under the domain of three large basins: Marañon, Huallaga and Pachitea; which in turn receive tribute from the waters of a set of micro-basins, such as: Nupe, Murmunya, Lauricocha, Carhuacocha, Vizcarra, Higueras, Huácar, el Eco, Llata, Quera, among others; and these micro-basins sustain life in Huánuco and affect the quality of life of the inhabitants, therefore it is of urgent necessity the implementation of environmental education with the purpose of practicing the preservation of the basins and micro-basins; The analysis obtained by inference shows a high degree of contamination of the micro-watersheds, a scarce preservation policy, and a deficient ecological and environmental education on the part of the inhabitants, which has a negative impact on the quality of life of the Huanuco population.
