Abstract

Objective. To determine the relationship between academic stress and acceptance of the use of virtual classroom. Methods. Quantitative, cross-sectional, analytical and correlational study. The population consisted of 342 nursing students of the Universidad Nacional Hermilio Valdizan de Huánuco-Peru and the sample of 181 students, during the period 2021. An academic stress scale and a scale of acceptance of the use of the virtual classroom were applied. The Spearman’s rho correlation test was used for inferential analysis. Results. 70.2% (127) presented moderate stress and 51.9% (94) indicated acceptance of the use of the medium-level virtual classroom. On the other hand, a significant positive correlation was found between acceptance of the use of the virtual classroom and academic stress (rs = 0.36; p=0.000), likewise, there was a significant positive correlation between academic stress and the dimensions of acceptance of the use of the virtual classroom such as active student participation (rs = 0.30; p=0.000), interaction between the student and the software (rs = 0.24; p=0.001) and student cognitive development (rs = 0.27; p=0.000). Conclusions. There is a relationship between academic stress and acceptance of the use of the virtual classroom in nursing students of a university in Huánuco in times of pandemic.
