Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the formative incidence of the subjects of the Reason and Faith Area in the students of the UPS, through the application of research instruments that allow to visualize their educational impact at a personal and professional level. This study evidenced the contribution of the subjects: Theological Philosophical Anthropology, Ethics, Life and Transcendence and Social Thought of the Church in the human and professional formation of the students of the technical careers of the Quito Campus. The quantitative methodology was applied supported by the case study, the questionnaire as its own instrument, among other methods, as support to the development of each of the phases of this research project. It was possible to establish a theoretical framework with each of the subjects that reflected a theological academic aspect, and the statistical data showed a majority acceptance (60%) for these subjects. At the same way, it was evidenced that the thematic axis of the subject of Ethics contributed mostly (80%) to the student formation in relation to the other subjects. It was concluded that these subjects contribute to the formation of university students, the work of the teaching staff of the Reason and Faith Area, the support of its educational authorities and collaborators of the Pastoral Department who work with a clear identity commitment (Christian-Salesian) stand out. These unprecedented results served to encourage future research in this educational-pastoral area and it is hoped that it will be socialized as a contribution to the university academy of the country.
