Abstract
Strategically aligned HRM practices with circular business models can be an important precondition for sustainable and competitive organisations. By linking workers, managers and business departments, they will bridge the skills gap, manage projects and mentor workers, promote circular values and Industry 5.0. Workforce agility is one of the vital areas to achieve organisational agility in the context of circular economy. Little research has been taken on human resource practices and workforce agility. This paper addresses the gap by surveying 252 retail employees and proposes that workforce agility is in significant positive relationship with HRM practices. Contributing to both management theory and practice, the findings show that, in the retail sector, compensation and benefits is the foremost influencing factor in promoting workforce agility, followed by performance management, recruitment and selection, training and development, and working conditions.
