AN EMPIRICAL STUDY ON EMPLOYEE’S RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS CONSERVATION OF COMMON WORK PLACE RESOURCES – A MEDIATION EFFECT OF GREEN POLICY.

Abstract

The globe is keenly looking to reduce the carbon foot prints in the earth.  There are rising issues like global warming, increased pollution, environmental threats and waste disposal. Go Green technologies and policies are adopted in many corporate companies which sets an example for the other organizations. Now concepts like Green Human resource management, Green supply chain management, Green marketing, Green purchasing has got emerged. This paper focus on conservation of energy and other resources that are available in the workplace. 116 primary data was collected from the entry level and middle level employees of MSME sector in Tirupur district. The constructs used in the study are “Electricity Conservation”, “Water Conservation” ,”Optimum usage of stationary” ,”Fuel Efficiency” ,”Time Management” and “Green Policy. The authors have attempted to prove the importance of green policy in the conservation of resources. Implications are given by the authors at the end of the study which may serve as suggestions for the emerging organizations to exhibit and convert their organization as a “Green Company”.
